she wakes from
a beautiful dream
that she wishes
had not ended.

in her dream
the night sky
was lit up
by the stars.

the moon was
high in the sky
and the moonbeams
made the lake
shine and shimmer.

she was dressed
in a white
silk gown that
had long flowy
sleeves.

she went over
to the lake
and looked at
her reflection.

she had a
crown with pearls
as white as
the moon.

she is a moon
princess. she is
finally where she
belongs.

where she can
fit in with
people like her.

she hears music
on the air
and wonders where
its coming from.

when she stands
up she bumps
into a man,
no wait its
a boy.

his eyes are
blue like the
night sky above
them. he holds
out his hand
for her to take.

she puts her
hand in his.
he leads her
to where the
music is coming
from.

its a ball
in her honor.
for her homecoming.
the boy and her
dance all night
long.

they do not
say any words
to each other.
the music speaks
for them so there
is no need
to hear the
words they may
want to say.

she keeps the
dream in her
memory forever.

she wants to
know how to
get to that
place so she
can be happy
once more.

a single tear
rolls down her
face when she
hears the yelling
voices of her
parents.

she is unwanted.

she has friends
who want her
around them. its
not them she
gets the unwanted
feeling in her
head.

she feels like
she is unwanted
by boys. why
does she think
this? she has
never been kissed.
she has never
felt the feelings
of making love
with a boy
that loves her.

she feels invisable
to those boys
at school. the
ones who could
show her these
feelings. instead she
is left thinking
that she is
unwanted by boys.

she thinks its
so unfair and
unkind.

she cries over
this feeling everytime
at night when
she is in
her room on
her bed.


she doesnt even
know why the
boys at school
wont date her
and she is
too shy and
embarrest to ask
such a question.

so she goes
on wondering why
she is unwanted.
